Sir/ma'am
I had been operated for fistula in ano 4 days back. The procedure was fistulectomy+kshar sutra for 6cm fistula. The operation site has NOT been stitched and I am going for daily dressing. My question is that, is this normal to pain at the operated site now as surgery is completed 4 days back? How long would it generally take to heal 6cm fistula if fistulectomy is done in 3cm and rest is kshar sutra? I m looking for second opinion. Kindly guide. Photograph attached of present wound where surgery is been done .

It should not be sutured
After kshara sutra pts is advise to walk more why bcz due to thread ligation it will help to cut the wound in more faster way
Kshara sutra does healing and cutting together as it’s having 21 layers of medicine coatings
So it’s normal to get mild pain and discomfort at the operated site
Ask you surgeon to do dressing with jatyadi tail so wound healing process will be faster
Next Steps
Advise
Walk more 3 4 km daily
Avoid fast food and non veg or heavy food consumption
Avoid alcohol and smoking or any addiction if u have

Hi.
If it deep then ask your dr.to stich it. Other wise it take long time to heal .According to it stitches needed.(if dr.not stich it even then no problem but it take long time).
Along with your medicine do not eat:- rice, curd
Hi open wound will heal faster. Time is completely depends on your body constitution and your care there will be pain for few days few more days your wound is in better condition
