After delivery cry all the time

Asked for Female, 32 Years

10 days ago I delivered a baby gir l by ceaserian. But from day one in place of to become happy. I just cry all the time. I don't understand why suddenly I become emotionally so weak.

Firstly congratulations on being blessed with a baby. Secondly, seems like you are going through Post-Partum Depression which typically happens to women who just delivered a baby. It mostly is because of hormonal upsurge that causes a brain chemistry that leads to feelings of sadness. It’s just a phase which will fade out, if you rationalize it. Generally speaking, 9 months of physical attachment to the baby coming to an end breaks the flow of hormonal settings in the mother’s body due to which such feelings are experienced. Spouse and family positive support is crucial in over-coming such phases in a woman’s life.

Next Steps

Start a fresh routine with support of your spouse and get involved in planning and caring for the baby. I believe that will create the required shift in you, from emotional to rational thinking. Read more on Post-Partum Depression to be aware of the phenomenon. If it’s uncontrollable seek help from a Psychologist ( for counseling) or a Psychiatrist (for medicine).
