Advice Regarding Finger Injury
Dear Doctor, I am writing to seek your advice regarding a small injury my wife has had for the past two days. While preparing chapathi dough (atta), a small dried piece of dough accidentally pricked under her fingernail. It is not stuck inside, but it seems to have pierced the skin slightly under the nail. Since then, she has been experiencing pain for the last two days. I can see a small whitish-yellowish patch under the nail (visible in the attached picture). There is mild swelling and discomfort, especially when pressure is applied. Could you please suggest any suitable medicine, ointment, or treatment that we can use to help relieve the pain and prevent infection? Kindly let us know if this requires immediate medical attention. Thank you in advance for your guidance. Regards, Sai
