Advice on Anti-anxiety medicines

Asked for Male, 40 Years

Currently my father’s age is 72 Yrs. He was diagnosed with Anxiety disorder during his 40’s.He was on psychiatric treatment for few years. Due to financial concern he stopped consulting psychiatrist & from our family doctors prescription he is taking anti-anxiety medicines (Ativan 4mg + trika 0.25mg) daily since last 32 Years. We would like to know doctors expert advice that is this safe to continue anti-anxiety medicines rest of his life as he is on this medicines since last 32 years & now it’s

Both dese meds belong to same class of drugs called sedative hypnotics. Dese r addictive drugs. It's usually not prescribed for more dan 6months. Since ur father has used it for such a long time it is risky to stop or reduce d dosage. In my opinion it's better to continue as it is. 2nd opinions invited.
