Adverse reaction to HRT
My mother was facing some symptoms like hot flashes, extreme weakness, mood swings...we went to a gynaecologist she put her on estrogen HRT... For 1 month...her periods started after 5 yrs of menopause ..and she is heavily bleeding. Bleeding stopped after taking tranxemic acid ...but now from yesterday again her periods resume...how long it will take too return back to her no bleeding phase.

Hiii...person who is on HRT gets regular periods nothing to worry about that.... If she is bleeding heavily....please continue tranexamic acid 500mg three times daily for 5days... Bleeding is due to the hormones in HRT ...need not worry it will wean off

The effect of Oestrogen will have to be countered with Progesterone. And after that she will need evaluation for the effect of hormone on her Uterus.
