Acne vulgaris
I have attached a picture of my back. I have pcos since I was 18. I have tried chemical peel for 4 6 times.. but no improvement is seen. Can I start isotretinoin tablets and buy some chemical peel online and use it. It's being very depressing and visiting doctor for chemical peel takes 6to 8k per sitting. I can't afford. Please suggest something. Thankyou.

Hello dear. Truncal acne can be treated effectively. Kindly consult online for proper treatment. Don't self treat yourself with OTC fruit peels. They will not help. Before isotretinoin is started, some tests need to be done.

Chemical peels generally not advisable for this condition. For the active pimples you have to take treatment for quite a long time with regular follow ups. Once the active pimples reduce we can start you on skin lightening treatment for the pigmentation that’s left behind. Avoid taking tablets without proper consultation with a dermatologist. However in PCOS the pimples will be severe and hence you have to treat the underlying problem too
Next Steps
Consult a dermatologist online for further evaluation and management
Health Tips
Avoid taking self medication / Self peels as this may worsen the condition.
