Acne skin; around 5 red spots
Hello, I am 30 years old and since stopping my contraceptive pill, 4 months ago, I have been having acne. It is not a horrible acne, but I have always around 5 spots around my face, which are not small spots. They are large and really red. I was wondering if Effaclar duo or Triacne will solve the issue. Thanks a lot

Hi Thanks for your query. Clinical photo of the affected area would have been helpful to suggest a diagnosis or remedy. 1. Sunscreen and sunprotection- this forms the absolute cornerstone of management. You need to be on this for the duration of any treatment . 2. Apply a kojic acid cream for at least 8 weeks. 3. Chemical peels such as glycolic acid can help. You will need 4-7 treatments over the next few months. 4. Vitamin A such as tretinoin can help. The best treatment is a combination of the above.
