I had severe acne so i was under medication. i was prescribed SOTRET TABLETS 10 mg,which i am taking since September. Right now i have scars for which i am applying DERIVA BPO GEL. is it safe to continue the tablets for so long?

No avoid... treatment depends on the grade...Acne or pimples... Due to hormonal changes..Oily skin causes it...Common in adolescent age...May occur in adults also.. Food like Oily foods, ice cream, chocolate and sweets increase it.. Tablets can be taken only if doctor has prescribed it for so long or else needs liver and lipid blood tests however it's not advisable to take this medicine for so long without doctors consultation.scars can be treated with peels or lasers ,can be decided after consultation.
Ya it is safe provided your investigation for liver and lipids are done and are in normal limits .and in pregnancy it should not be used. For spots you can use creams but for scars ,laser treatment has to be taken
