I regularly get these acne/pimples on my chin and around the mouth area for the past 2 years. These are often very painful and last for a week or so. They become white and form puss inside them before drying up and leaving a black mark. I had shown a dermatologist some 2 years back and he had given me some sunscreen and face wash which didn't help solve the problem. I eat healthy food and the water intake is high too, however I have failed to understand the reason behind getting these. Please help me with the reason and things to avoid in order to not get these. Also, I end up scratching them most of the times even after stopping myself. Please help.

The treatment of acne differs according to the grade of involvement. Some people have more oilyness on the face which results in breakouts. After completing treatment for controlling the active breakouts, tablets can be stopped and creams need to be continued to prevent recurrence. Diet and lifestyle modifications are also important. Please don't do any self treatment such as over the counter Steroid creams. Don't burst the pimples with your fingers as it can result in ugly scars. The marks and pores left behind after the pimples heal can also be treated. Please call me and visit my clinic detailed prescription and diet advice.
