Abhyanga is a very important Ayurvedic daily care (Dinacharya) practice for newborns. When done gently and correctly, it supports growth, immunity, sleep, digestion, and bonding.

Can be started from day 7–14 after birth (once the umbilical stump has fallen)
In preterm or low-birth-weight babies → start only after pediatrician’s advice

🤲 How to Do Abhyanga (Step-by-Step)
1️⃣ Choose a warm, draft-free room
2️⃣ Warm a small quantity of oil using a bowl in warm water
3️⃣ Start with head massage (very gentle circular strokes)
4️⃣ Massage face softly, avoiding eyes & nose
5️⃣ Chest & abdomen – clockwise gentle strokes
6️⃣ Arms & legs – long strokes from shoulder → hand, thigh → foot
7️⃣ Joints – soft circular movements
8️⃣ Back – gentle strokes from neck to lower back
🕒 Duration: 10–15 minutes
🕰️ Best time: Morning before bath
🛁 Bath After Abhyanga
Wait 15–20 minutes after massage
Use lukewarm water
Mild herbal powder (like besan + turmeric) or plain water
Avoid soaps daily (2–3 times/week only if needed)
