8 weeks pregnant with Sciatica
Thanks in advance. She is 8 weeks pregnant and has sciatica like symptoms, pain starting at lower back and radiates till knee on the left side. I have 4 questions: Which department should we be contacting at this time? What are some safe exercises at home? We have a TENS massager machine, can we use that for early pregnancy? how many points can we put it upto?

Paracetamol is helpful. Also you can go for hot bag fomentation. Do check your mattress. Not too hard not too soft. Should be firm. Take rest by lying in the bed and pillow below the knees so that the knees are bent. Avoid sitting on floor, forward bending, lifting weights, while sitting take complete support of the backrest of the chair. Yes back extension exercises will be helpful. You can contact either your obstetrician or orthopaedician for this.
