Hello Doctor,
My 8 days old new born female baby farts a lot these days as her milk intake has increased. As new patents we are unable to identify the cause of this. My daughter poops for 3 - 4 times a day. Lu's around 4 - 5 times. She intakes 80 % mothers milk and 20 % Lactogen.
Advise.

Try to stop formula feeds you milk should be adequate. Feed on demand or every 3 rd hourly. No of times passing urine days how much milk he has taken more the frequency is good for the baby . Farting frequently don’t worry.
Frequent farts indicate retained gas in stomach.
U have to burp the baby for atleast 20min / 3-4 burps after every feed.
Gas also enters while feeding.
So burping is mandatory after each feed. Otherwise it cause excessive cry
Next Steps
urine and stool passing frqunecy is absolutely normal.
Health Tips
Use Colic aid drops if excessive cry devlops due to retained gas
