8.5 month old cough and cold
Hi my baby girl is 8.5 months old. She has veen suffering from cold and cough from past few days. Fever was there but for only 1 day and after giving her paracetamol it subsided. But cold and cough is still there Dr has prescribed taxim o(1.5 ml), mucolite(0.5 ml) and t minic (1 ml)for her as per her weight which is 7 kg. Today she vomited a lot and have become absolutely tired. She s coughing a lot and dr told us shr has infection in her chest but antibiotic will help her recover. Need to know if this prolonged cough can be fatal? Do we need to get her blood test done ? She has been quite active despite having cold and cough and also was eating well. Please help.

*General danger sign* (the child is not able to drink or vomits everything .the child has had convulsions .the child is lethargic or unconscious). Most children with a general danger sign need URGENT referral to hospital/physical meet with pediatrician for review. Watch for vitals(urine output/urine color/blood in stool/fever/activity/breathing difficulty)....if deterioration consultation required.
