Hi Doctor
My Baby is 2.8, she has. Crp of 46.3 neutrophills is 70 in the blood test so Doctor prescribed amoxicillin antibiotics.
I started giving, why do we get bacterial infection and can this be treated without antibiotics.
Will this infection come back after the treatement.
How to treat these infections with out using antibiotics. She had fever and cough for 7days and it was cured without antibiotics ,but again after 10 days she got fever when we tested she had Crp 46 so I started antibiotics.
Please suggest how to know if the complete infection is cured and preventive steps to not get this again, can we wait for body to heal naturally even when Crp is 46 or is it something dangeroous
Thanks

First of all since the CRP is positive so it suggest of infection, which needs to be cured by giving antibiotics and there is no way other rounds. Generally infections require antibiotics and unless it is a viral infection if your child was suffering from fever and the fever has come back that’s why the doctor has suggested for antibiotics.

Nothing to worry usually when the climate is cold usually baby will tend to get infections and that to baby will try to keep everything in the mouth so it is usually will be there .usually 5 to 7 days of course is sufficient to cure the infection .keep in mind always differentiation between viral and bacterial is viral in between episode baby will be active ,may be associated with running nose ,watery eyes, etc and there will be high grade fever and respond to paracetamol.
Fistly we have to treat patient not the report…
Only CRP is not suggestive of infection .. we have to search for focus if suspecting for bacterial infection..
Generally in year 5-7 times child can get viral infection ..
don’t worry if he is playful .. in between fever he is alert consius, eating well.. urine Normal .. no difficulty in breathing..
Bacterial infection can occur superaddedly after any viral infection , it can be droplet, hematogenoous spread, cause varies for any infection, just give proper treatment given by your doctor and if symptoms decrease and tlc count will normalise , atleast give complete course so that infection can be cleared
