It could be either gums or tooth problem.Gums inflammation can occur if wisdom tooth is partially erupted. If there is cavity in wisdom tooth it may cause pain

For gums inflammation due to partially erupted tooth extraction of wisdom tooth may have to be done. If tooth cavity in erupted tooth then either restoration or root canal treatment
