I want to come off cerazette as I am going on holiday for a month and don't want to deal with having to remember to take it. I told my gp about this and he said to stop after three weeks of taking it (as a suggestion(?)) but I was wondering if I could just finish the whole pack of four weeks so I could be protected for another week.

It's better to take the complete pack and then stop. But it will not provide you protection beyond a week. You will need to back up contraception after that
