Gently massage near the bridge of the nose at inner canthus of eye. Take a fine muslin cloth, dip it in warm water & clean the eyes starting from middle of nose going out.
Next Steps
If discharge still persists, then use antibiotic eye drops like ciplox/ tobramycin thrice a day.

It may secondary to tear duct block, which is quite normal for a neonate. Gentle massaging near the inner margin of eye should help. Clean with cotton dipped in lukewarm water from inside of the eyelid margin outwards.
Try cleaning Baby eyes with a good cotton cloth and Luke warm water. Massage near the bridge of nose near to inner Canthus of eye daily to get rid of watering for few days
