This appears to be a delayed local reaction to the wasp sting — mild pain, itching, and redness after a week is common in young children.
Next Steps
Please consult a pediatrician in person for examination. A short course of topical hydrocortisone cream may be needed.
Health Tips
Seek immediate care if swelling spreads, rash appears elsewhere, or child has any breathing difficulty.

It requires examination to know if there is any issue. Best is to take consultation. Better before it gets worse.
Next Steps
Consult a Pediatrician quickly if possible.

A mild degree of redness, itching, or tenderness can sometimes persist for 1–2 weeks after a wasp sting due to a local inflammatory reaction. If the redness is not increasing, there is no significant swelling, pus, fever, or difficulty walking, it is usually not a cause for concern.
Next Steps
You may continue cold compresses and avoid scratching. If itching is troublesome, consult your pediatrician regarding continuation of an antihistamine. If symptoms are worsening or not improving over the next few days, have the area examined.
Health Tips
Seek medical attention if there is increasing redness, swelling, warmth, pus discharge, fever, limping, or if the child develops breathing difficulty, facial swelling, or widespread rash. These may indicate infection or a more significant allergic reaction.
