Vomit and loose stools
Hi doctors good morning..my daughter yesterday night had 2kala gulab jamuns and later dosai which batter was little sour..now morning as soon as she got up vomitted and is gng loose stools..she's drinking water and again trying to vomit..is it OK..any help as wat to do and gv as diet and medicine

Hi her symptoms suggestive of acute gastroenteritis...if she continues to vomit nd pass stools she will become dehydrated it will be dangerous...consult pediatrician immediately they will examine her asses her state and treat accordingly

hello. her symptoms are suggestive of acute gastroenteritis. this may be due to the bacteria itself or the toxins produced by the bacteria. so if its because of the preformed toxins, its pretty much self limiting you just need to keep her hydrated well. make her drink plenty of fluids like water, juice etc. you could give her WHO ORS. remember that keeping her hydrated is very important as dehydration is the main risk. give her curd because curd contains good bacteria which would help. if still her condition doesn't improve, she needs to be looked by a paediatrician who would write an appropriate antibiotic. kind regards, Dr Anil Jain
