Viral meningitis recovery
My mother was diagnosed with viral meningitis a few months back. She has recovered well now. I would like to know if another MRI Brain scan is recommended post recovery. The only time it was done was during her diagnosis at the time she was admitted in hospital, hasn't been done after that. Kindly advise.

If she is asymptomatic at present there is no hurry to obtain a repeat scan. However if you feel that she is starting to have symptoms suggestive of recurrent viral meningitis like headache, fever, neck pain, confusion, vomiting, etc. it is better to undergo a detailed neurological evaluation followed by a scan if required. But as long as she is normal, a scan may not be necessary.
