Violent Sleep Movements
My father, 65 yrs old has been moving his hands and legs in his sleep violently. It has increased in the past 6-8 months. He has minor heart blockages and kidney problems. He is under regular checkup with his cardiologist, nephrologist and urologist. We visited two neurologists and did several tests (EEG, blood tests, etc). All reports are clear. The doctors are saying there is nothing to worry about and this is normal. However, seeing his movements at night is very concerning. Is there any other specialist we need to consider or any other specific tests we need to do?

Do the movement resemble acting out a dream ? It is possible the movements are RBD / REM sleep behaviour Disorder.  There are other possibilities also to be considered. Getting a sleep study or polysomnography will help to confirm the condition. Consult a Neurologist or a sleep specialist.
