Thank you for your query. It sounds like you may have an infection. Pain and discharge with or without swelling and urinary symptoms could mean that the infection is in the bladder as well as the vagina or uterus and tubes. Infection can be because it is sexually transmitted in which case both you and your partner will need testing and treating. If it is not then most of the time infection occurs because of contamination from stools. When cleaning make sure you clean from front backwards and do not touch the vagina or urethra with the hand that touches the anus or stools.  In women the urethra is short and easily catches infection from the vagina or after sex. When having sex make sure to empty the bladder before and after. I would suggest you consult a gynaecologist and take an early morning urine sample for testing. You will need an internal examination and tests which may include an ultrasound. hope this helps
