Valparin syrup
My baby girl one year old. She got seizure with fever twice and without fever 5 times. Doctor prescribed valparin syrup once in the morning and once during night. My question is will it cause any side effects now or in the future? He told to continue this syrup till 2 years. Doctor told to check baby's platelet count? I'm afraid of side effects. Please guide

Yes. It can cause some side effects. So they will do some tests periodically like once in 3 months. Be under regular follow up with your doctor and report him if any side effects are there. It's one of the most common drug used for seizures. So dont worry.
