Severe vaginal itching during periods is commonly due to pad-related irritation, moisture, or a mild fungal infection. It can persist even after removing the pad. What to do now: Keep the area clean and dry Change pads frequently; use unscented cotton pads or menstrual cup if comfortable Avoid soaps, vaginal washes, or home remedies Wear loose cotton underwear If itching continues >2–3 days, or if you develop white discharge, redness, swelling, or burning, consult a gynecologist—antifungal treatment may be needed. Do not self-apply steroid or mixed creams.
