Vaginal discharge

Asked for Female, 19 Years

I've been having lots of vaginal 'bleeding' that has been constant for 3 weeks. The blood that is being discharged is clearly old as it is brown or nearly black. I currently have the contraceptive implant that I have had for nearly 3 years without any problems. I was wondering if this could be causing the problem or if it is more serious.
