Hello Doctor,
My father got his first dose of COVID vaccine yesterday and he got fever today which is the symptoms of vaccine been active in the body.
Is it safe to give him paracetamol to control the fever ?

Please give him PCM 650 1 tab twice daily. Report the issue to the Vaccination Centre as this have to be reported as AEFI. and if Fever is more than 100 F or there is other symptoms like cough breathlessness itching chest discomfort , go to emergency of nearby hospital immediately.

Yes...From safety point of view paracetamol is safe to give for fever but not more than 500mg twice a day should be given

Yes , fever after vaccination is completely normal. You can give paracetamol tablet once. However if fever still persists, you should see a doctor
