UTI in pregnancy
My wife is pregnat with 16 weeks.Last week we had a Urine culture for her.The report showed presence of Enterococcus faeceli with colony count 10^5 CFU/ml.The doctor prescribed ampicillin antibiotic and my wife  started taking novomax 500mg twice daily for a week. After a week she again got tested for Urine culture. This time the report shows presence of another bacteria  Escherichia coli having same colony count. We are confused..Does either of the reports are working as both had different bacteria presence.Or can it happens to have different bacteria in significant amount with in weeks. What medicine should she have now?
