UTI in my 19 months baby
Hi Doctor, My baby girl is 19 months old and last week she had UTI and her CRP levels wer v high like 78. She was given antibiotics via IV and after 5 days of IV her CRP level reduced to 22. My doctor suggested to do urine culture after 3 days of stopping antibiotics which i am ok, but she also suggested for ultra sound for kidneys. Is this necessary as i feel baby will not cooperate and i m scared to do it as well.!! Could you please let me know is it mandatory to do ultrasound or only urine culture reports will help us confirm that she has recovered??

Ultrasound is safe for babies It may be required to look for anatomical obstructions or if complete evacuation is present or not.
