Urinary bacterial and pregnancy test

Can a nitrite affect a pregnancy test.? Went to Dr and they said my nitrite cam back positive and I could have a urinary bacterial infection. I am also 7 days late. Took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. Can the bacteria affect the test?
