Uric acid problem
I have uric acid 8.6, it's giving me trouble and if i stop the medicine , uric acid level increases. Whom should I consul , MD medicine or rehumatologist or orthopedic. I m on medication febuxostat 8 mg twice a day. I m from pune

Hello there.
I can understand your concern.
Just taking medicines won't be enough, you will have to make some diet changes also.
Avoid a high protein diet.
Uric acid is a end product of protein metabolism.
So restricting the protein intake will help.
Also, consult a rheumatologist in person for further management.
