Dear Doctors. I need a small favor pls. I am appearing for my online medical exams tomorrow for Sir John Hopkins University, U.S. I have two questions to which I am not getting the answers. My first question is does corpus luteum cyst appears only during pregnancy?and is CA 125 elevated in endometriosis condition if the patient is not a cancer patient. Pls pls help. Corpus literal cyst develop in the luteal phase even without pregnancy.
CA 125 can be elevated in many conditions like endometriosis and cancer ovary , inflammatory conditions

Hello. Corpus luteal cyst is a functional cyst which forms after ovulation. So it present in all menstruating women .
It also supports early pregnancy.
CA 125 is elevated in many conditions. Not just cancer. Like fibroids, endometriosis, etc.

Corpus luteum develops in luteal phase of cycle after secondary oocyte is released,if pregnancy happens it supports by relesing progesterone.ca 125 is elevated in endometriosis,also in many condition
