always remember that breastfeeding is a demand supply thing. the more your baby suckles on the breast, more will be your milk production. if the baby doesnt suckle on the breast, your body gets the signal to reduce and ultimately stop milk supply.
start breastfeeding again after making sure that u dont have inverted or cracked nipples. these can set u back a bit.
whenever the baby is hungry, offer your breast first. only after u think your breasts are empty and the baby is still hungry, offer formula. this may happen for the initial few days until your milk supply catches up.
Next Steps
take a well balanced diet. drink plenty of fluids. fresh fruits, dry fruits, coconut, edible gum, fennel seeds, fenugreek also help in increasing milk supply. u can also consider taking shatavari with milk. for any further assistance u can consult with your gynaecologist or pediatrician or even a lactation consultant if available.
