Typhoid fever showing +ve
Hi,
My dad had typhoid fever for few weeks and was admitted in a hospital for 10 days. After treatment, the physician asked for another blood test and the reports showed +ve but the doctor said typhoid will show +ve in the check ups for 6 months even after complete cure. Could you kindly advise if that is the case?

usually that depends upon the antibiotic that has been treated with. people who suffered typhoid will usually remain positive even after treatment is but the time of remaining positive depends upon the patients reaction to the bacteria and the antibiotic treatment. usually it would be 2-6 months but some may remain carrier state for life.
