TSH reads 0.005
My mother had some health issue and we consulted Gynecologist. The doctor suggested for vaginal hysterectomy with PFR and also suggested primary blood test for Glucose, hemoglobin and TSH test. Blood and glucose are normal, TSH values are too low, 0.005. The doctor asks to consult Endocrinologist once. Please suggest is there a worry about TSH levels and would it needs attention before surgery? Thanks a lot in advance for your kind advice.

TSH value alone isn't sufficient It needs to interpreted along with T3 and T4. TSH values are suppressed in hyperthyroidism but the patient usually has some symptoms by then. Low TSH can also be seen in secondary hypothyroidism
