Tsh dosage for 9th week
Hi doc, I am in my 9th week of pregnancy . I have subclinical hypothyroidism. My dosage was 100 mcg 4 days and 75mcg 3 days. At 5 weeks I checked my tsh and the levels were 8.145 . My diabetologist prescribed a increase in my dosage and it raised it to 100 mcg 5 days and 125 mcg 2 days . Recently after 4 weeks I checked my tsh again . The levels are 6.5. Now my diabetologist raised the dosage to 125 mcg everyday. I understand that tsh needs to be within 2.5 in first trimester. I'm already at 9 weeks and it's not controlled yet. As the increase in dosage is same as the previous increase amd since that dosage couldn't get my tsh levels down, I was wondering if my dosage must be increased more to 150 mcg or any other dose ? My only concern is to get it below 2.5 atleast in this 4 weeks. Please advice. Thank you ! My weight is 55kg and 167cm height

You are too mathematical. In addition to getting your TSH down the Doctor also has to ensure that you don't develop symptoms of hyperthyroidism during the adjustment of your dosage. Your concern is one example which shows why there are too many Medico-legal cases in the Indian Courts. The patients lodge a premature complaint and the Courts have no interest in sorting out a straight forward case. The result; the Doctors keep going to the Courts every month for the next 40 years.
