There are many ayurvedic medicines to treat sleep difficulties but it is important to know the cause of sleep disturbance before prescribing any medicines, you should consult before taking anything.
Nidranasha or sleeplessness is primarily caused by an increase in Vata and Pitta or a decrease in Kapha and Tamas. Sleeplessness can be due to many more reasons also. Your brief history is not sufficient but seeing your history i would like to recommend you to change your lifestyle and adopt following steps in your day to day life.
1. Go to bed between 9 PM and 10 PM which naturally promotes sound sleep.
2. Regular full-body oil massage, especially Padabhyanga (foot massage) with sesame oil or you can take any other oil also, is crucial for calming the nervous system.
3. Engaging in physical work and mental vigilance is necessary to counteract the dullness of Tamas.
4. Sleeping during the day is generally prohibited as it increases Kapha and may cause heaviness or disease.
5. Dinner should be light, conducive to health, and consumed in the first three hours of the night (Prathama Prahara).
6. Shali Rice with Curd/Ghee.
7.you can take brahmi ghrita, ashwagandha and shankhpushpi (but it's advisable if you consult me online for exact dosage and more quality treatment).

Difficulty in falling asleep or maintaining sleep is a common concern and can arise due to multiple factors such as mental stress, anxiety, irregular sleep schedules, excessive screen exposure, overthinking, disturbed daily routines, or lifestyle imbalances. In Ayurveda, sleep (Nidra) is considered one of the three pillars of health, and disturbances in sleep are often associated with aggravation of Vata and imbalance in the mind-body rhythm. Before considering any treatment, it is important to understand the underlying cause, duration of symptoms, sleep pattern, and associated factors affecting your sleep.
Since sleep-related concerns can vary significantly from person to person, it would not be appropriate to prescribe any medicine without a detailed clinical assessment. A personalized evaluation helps determine the most suitable Ayurvedic approach for long-term and sustainable improvement.
Next Steps
Try to maintain a fixed sleep and wake-up schedule, even on weekends. Avoid excessive use of mobile phones, television, or laptops at least one hour before bedtime. Reduce consumption of caffeine-containing beverages, especially during the evening hours. Create a calm sleeping environment and engage in relaxing activities such as light reading, meditation, or gentle breathing exercises before going to bed. If the problem has been persistent for several weeks or is affecting your daily functioning, a detailed consultation would be beneficial to identify the root cause and plan an appropriate treatment strategy. I understand your concern. Before suggesting any Ayurvedic medicine, I would like to understand the cause of your sleep difficulty. Kindly let me know: How long you have been experiencing this problem, whether you have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, your daily stress levels, caffeine intake, existing medical conditions, current medications, and your usual sleep schedule. Based on your responses, I can guide you with appropriate Ayurvedic medicines and lifestyle recommendations.
At your age (around 44 years), the body starts going through a natural phase called perimenopause.
During this time there are hormonal changes in the body which can affect sleep because of this you may feel difficulty in falling asleep ,frequent waking at night, irritability, or sometimes heat in the body.
In Ayurveda, this is mainly due to imbalance of Vata and Pitta dosha, which affects the mind and sleep cycle.
So our treatment focuses on calming the mind, reducing stress, and supporting the body during these hormonal changes.
With proper medicine and a little lifestyle care, your sleep can improve naturally.
