Hello Being in a position for a prolonged time causes bedsores. So there should be changing of body position. Waterbeds or Airbeds are recommended.
Next Steps
Since there is fracture in the right thigh, turn the patient towards left to change the position(Hourly changing) because circulation of blood is needed to heal.Placing a water Ballon under the back could help. Basic movements are necessary to ensure there is no swelling of body parts.

Hello there ... To prevent bedsore the most important aspect is to frequently change patient position ( every 2 hours ). Now as you have stated, the patients leg is plastered so I am assuming it's not a comminnated fracture (bone breaks into very small pieces) , usually the part can be moved without pain. Some discomfort the patient will have to bear. You can consult a physiotherapist regarding patient  positioning. The patient should use an 'Air bed '  , the sheets on the bed should be wrinkle free as wrinkles cause static damage to the skin and develop bedsore. Keep the skin hydrated with moisturizer , and if the sore has developed - use betadine & iodine solution and antifungal powder to keep it dry while moisturising the skin surrounding the bedsore
Next Steps
Book an appointment with a Physiotherapist
Health Tips
Keep exercising the hands and other leg as a patient who spends a lot of time on the bed are more prone to develop DVT. If it's not possible, you can use a pneumatic pump to improve the blood circulation. Stay in touch with the orthopaedic & Physiotherapist

1) Please consult Physician for medications. 2) Prevent further pressure by using a air mattress. Towel rolls can also be used to prevent pressure on wound. 3) Proper cleaning of open wound and dressing is the key in healing. 4) Encourage the patient to do toe and foot finger movements that wi enhance blood flow in lower limbs.
