I had a big cavity in my upper left 5th tooth, which has been filled few years back.
For the last few days, I can feel cracks/dents on the surface of the filling, with my tongue.
I am experiencing sharp sensations at that spot with cold water OR food pressure such as with chewing gums.
I am also feeling general fatigue for no apparent reason, for last few days.
Is this a sign of tooth decay?

You need to get this teeth checked up with a specialist dentist..
Next Steps
if the tooth is damaged to such an extent where almost majority of the tooth structure is lost then it will go for an extraction..
however if the cavity is a moderate size one you can go with options like inlay or onlay which are basically partially covering caps or crowns which seals the defect and brings back the teeth to its natural form and function..because ideally if the cavity is very large a normal filling wont stay there for long..

The cause of a cracked filling may occur for many reasons, such as chewing too hard, grinding your teeth, clenching teeth together, or secondary cavity that forms under the filling . Take an X-ray to check if there is any cavity that has formed . if you do nothing, it may get worse. You could end up getting an infection in the tooth, which could turn into an abscessed tooth if left unattended. So visit a dentist near by and start the treatment . Take care
