At this age, picky eating and preference for junk food are extremely common. The good thing is your child’s weight (15 kg at around 2.7 years) is actually acceptable, so this does not sound like severe nutritional deficiency.
Health Tips
• Completely stop packaged junk foods for 2–3 weeks: • chips • biscuits • chocolates • juices • fries • frequent milk/shakes between meals • Keep fixed meal timings. • Offer food for 20–30 minutes only; avoid force feeding. • Give family food together at dining table. • Avoid mobile/TV during meals. • Small frequent portions work better than large plates. • If child refuses, do not immediately replace with junk food. • Hunger training is important — healthy children usually do not starve themselves. Healthy snack options: • banana • curd • cheese/paneer • boiled potato • egg • khichdi • dosa/idli • fruit pieces • homemade shakes
