Hello
Your child’s symptoms suggest functional constipation, which is quite common at this age — especially if the stool is pale yellow/grayish, formed, and hard to pass. Straining and crying before passing stools is often due to anal discomfort or fear of pain while passing hard stools.
Give plenty of water, fruit juices (especially prune, pear, or apple), and high-fiber foods (like papaya, banana, cooked vegetables, whole grains).
Add ghee in warm milk or food – it helps soften stools.
Continue breastfeeding if ongoing – it provides natural fluids.
You can continue Colicaid for 2–3 days more to relieve gas, but it won’t treat constipation.
Next Steps
If the child continues to strain or skips stool for more than 3 days, or develops blood in stool, severe abdominal pain, or vomiting, please visit a pediatrician.
Your doctor may advise a stool softener like lactulose syrup or glycerin suppository temporarily.
Avoid using regular laxatives without medical advice.
Health Tips
Avoid giving spicy, processed, or low-fiber foods. Try not to force potty training during this phase, and never scold the child for withholding stool — it worsens the fear. Patience and a calm routine really help.

Your baby seems to be having constipation, likely due to low water intake and slow bowel movement which is very common at this stage.
Next Steps
Increase water intake, give fiber rich diet, avoid constipating foods like excess milk, maida, processed food, etc, add natural laxatives to diet like soaked raisins, figs. Encourage Physical activity
Health Tips
Try not to force or scold during potty. Also keep track of stool color too, if it stays grey for more than 2–3 days, consult pediatrician to rule out liver-related issue
