Thyroid test for infant
Hi doctor,
I have hypothyroidism from last 8 years.
My baby is 2.5 month old. Somehow thyroid test missed for the baby during hospital discharge time. Can we do the test now?

Yes you can. If TSH is raised thyroxin should be started. Hypothyroidism is treatable cause of mental retardation in children. Thyroid screening is done in every child specially if mother has hypothyroidism or child has synonyms s/o hypothyroidism.
