Felling excessive thirst is one of the symptom for diabetes but not the only one. If u are high risk of developing diabetes then u need to check your blood report. High risk factors include
1. Family history of diabetes
2. Obesity
3. Stress
4. Smoking
5. Sedentary life style
Having said this since Diabetes beyond these boundaries now a days it is worthwhile to check once. Diabetic patients have excessive urination, excessive thirst, weight loss, blurring of vision, etc. so maintain healthy lifestyle and check ur blood sugars once
