Thick and thin patches in hair strand

Asked for Female, 23 Years

My hair has alternate thick and thin strands. My hair are otherwise dry and a bit frizzy. It feels like they are swelled in certain regions. Most of my hair are like that. I have not used any chemicals as well. Please tell me why is it like that. If there is an medication then please let me know.
