Thank you for your response. I have cons
Thank you for your response. I have consulted multiple dentists and they examined me physically, and they said everything looks normal. However, I still feel mild burning and discomfort inside my mouth. I had a smoking history for around 6 years, but I quit one year ago. There is no increase in size, no ulcer, and no severe pain. Kindly guide me on the possible reason and what I should do next. Thank you. Asbin

Your mild burning/discomfort with a normal oral exam is likely Burning Mouth Syndrome, a condition where your mouth feels burning even though everything looks normal. It’s often related to nerve sensitivity, dryness, minor irritation, or underlying factors like stress, vitamin levels, medications or previous smoking history Dry mouth, spicy/acidic foods, even old smoking habits or stress can trigger it Btw Do you usually feel altered taste in your mouth?? Or metallic taste sometimes?.
Next Steps
1. Use alcohol-free, mild mouthwash or toothpaste to avoid irritation. 2. Avoid highly acidic, spicy, hot foods, coffee, soda, alcohol and tobacco products 3. Have a routine blood test for vitamins, especially B12, folate, iron, zinc & If deficiency is found, take supplements (Vitamin B complex, Iron, zinc supplements) 4. Go to your nearby dentist and do the check up again because it looks more like Burning Mouth Syndrome so prescription will be given accordingly

Hello Asbin, First of all, well done on quitting smoking — that’s a great step for your health. Since multiple dentists examined you and found everything normal, and there’s no ulcer, growth, or severe pain, this is unlikely to be anything serious. Mild burning can be due to: • Post-smoking sensitivity • Vitamin deficiencies (B12, Iron, Vitamin D) • Acidity/reflux • Dry mouth or stress I would suggest basic blood tests (B12, Iron, Vitamin D, sugar levels) and avoiding very spicy or acidic foods for now. If symptoms persist or increase, consult an oral medicine specialist for further evaluation. Take Care
