Hello, understand your concern
Mother has hypothyroidism, so the baby has a slightly higher risk of thyroid issues. Newborn screening was not done, so important conditions may have been missed early.
Next Steps
Get the baby screened as soon as possible: Thyroid function tests
No need to wait for symptoms
Mother’s thyroid care: Continue thyroid medication and follow-up with physician.
Safe in breastfeeding — does not harm the baby.
Health Tips
Watch for early signs (but don’t wait for them)
Excessive sleepiness
Poor feeding, constipation
Prolonged jaundice
Poor weight gain, reduced activity
If any appear, consult immediately.
