4 month old baby, for the past 1 week, drooling has been increased a lot ( drools till chin and sometimes to neck as well). She tries to bite or chew her fingers and if we give any wooden teether she bites a lot. Sometimes she cries at evening with her fingers in mouth even after breast feeding and sleeping. At times, sleep and feeding is also disturbed due to this.

Continue tethers. No medication is required. Maximum paracetamol can be given if necessary or irritable for a long time. Usually teeth erupt at 6 months. Consult a Pediatrician to check other reasons for the irritability.

These behaviors strongly resemble and are entirely consistent with early signs of infant teething, which commonly begins around 4 to 7 months of age. Please double-check the baby's gums for physical signs like mild redness, swelling, or a small white bump indicating a budding front tooth. To gently soothe the child's irritability, you can try at least three distinct non-medical options: massage the gums with a clean finger, offer a solid, refrigerated rubber teething ring, or let her gnaw on a clean, cold, damp washcloth. If the fussiness becomes severe or is accompanied by other common systemic symptoms, you might also consider clinical alternatives like weight-appropriate infant acetaminophen, but always verify proper usage with your pediatrician first.
Dont worry its normal behaviour only.
At 4months drooling of saliva and biting are normal infact baby is getting ready for solid food as part of biting
Yes, the increased drooling, chewing on fingers/teethers, and occasional irritability can be early signs associated with teething. However, many babies around 3–5 months also naturally explore objects with their mouth and drool more as salivary glands become more active.
You may gently massage the gums with a clean finger and offer a clean, age-appropriate teether. Ensure the baby is fed, burped, and otherwise comfortable. If there is significant fever, persistent feeding refusal, excessive crying, or any other concerning symptoms, please have her examined as these are usually not due to teething alone.
