11 weeks means she is in the end of her first trimester. Since there is severe pain she need not wait. It's advisible to visit dentist and there are medicines which are safe during pregnancy only certain procedures are not advised during certain months of pregnancy. If possible dentist will start rct in the respective tooth if the pain is related to pulp. She will be relieved from pain if  that is done.  Mostly almost all  dental procedures are safest during second trimester  ( 13 to 26 weeks ) get all her dental treatments done during that period inorder to avoid emergencies.

in most of the cases there will be secondary decay beneath the filling which may have got the whole tooth infected . go for the xray and checkup . it either needs a root canal or replacement of fillings bridgewaydental.com

Get consent and medicines from your gynecologist. That would be much safer. Also visit a dentist to discuss the treatment and get it done in 2nd trimester after gynecologist's consent. Strictly refrain patient from x rays.

Hi, As your wife is pregnant and first trimester is going on so we cannot take xray in this period. You can get your dental treatment done in 2nd trimester means in between 13 -24 months of pregnancy. 2nd trimester is safest for treatment. Acc to your complain and pain severity in previously treated tooth i guess there might be deep caries below filling.
Next Steps
Visit dentist for clinical examination and further treatment plan.
Health Tips
Have Tab Calpol 500mg ( paracetamol) twice daily for 3 days , no other painkiller. But this is temporary relief. Its better to get your treatment done after 1 month. For more detail discussion contact on personal chat box.

Namaskaram Pregnancy is a critical time in a woman's life to maintain oral hygiene. Due to the harmonal changes in the body, gums swell up and food deposits get lodged upon improper maintaining which can cause harm to the baby as well. The first trimester being the most delicate 1-12th week end, the ideal time for dental treatments is the second trimester 13th-26th week. However emergency dental treatments in cases of severe pain can be performed in any trimester under controlled safe conditions. Regarding the pain in the filled teeth, it maybe due to due to variety of factors eg:micro cracks in filling or dislodged filling etc. It is best that you visit your dentist immediately to consult for the tooth pain and the medications to take.
