A mildly elevated TSH with normal T3/T4 does not usually indicate a serious problem and there is no need to panic. In many children this can be temporary or represent mild/subclinical hypothyroidism. Constipation and fatigue can have many causes. Usually doctors advise repeating thyroid profile after some time and sometimes checking anti-TPO antibodies depending on clinical evaluation. Since T3 and T4 are normal, immediate emergency treatment is generally not required. Please continue follow-up with your pediatrician/endocrinologist.
Greetings
A TSH level of 5.88 mIU/L in a 5-year-old is slightly above the typical upper limit of around 3.5 to 4.0 mIU/L. This mild elevation, paired with a normal T4 level, is often called subclinical hypothyroidism. Common signs like constipation and fatigue are consistent with an underperforming thyroid. For TSH levels below 10 mIU/L, pediatrician recommend monitoring rather than immediate medication, as levels can sometimes normalize on their own.
Still in the process of investigation. As it is it is with in normal range. T4 Free T4 estimation also is required. May require other tests based on the results. Thyroid problem is not much related to food taken outside.
