T- plus eyedrops are safe for kids?
I took my five year old kid to eye checkup and they said little bit eye sight is there around 0.75 and they need to check further by dilating her pupils so they suggested eye drops of T-plus(TROPICAMIDE & PHENYLEPHRINE HYDROCHLORIDE OPTHALMIC SOLUTION) is this safe for five years old for dilation? Few websites mentioned not to use this drops below 18 years of age. Please suggest

Yes it is safe for kids T plus drop will only dilate eyes so we can examine back part of the eye -retina. But for thorough glass power check up, another cycloplegic drop can be used in kids like cyclopentolate or homide Which will dilate eyes and relax accomodation. So glass power check up will be perfect with dilated retinoscopy. But after using this drop, eyesight will be blurred for atleast 3 days.
Next Steps
Consult pediatric ophthalmologists
Health Tips
Consult when your kid has no exams. As for 3 days, he will not able to do homework.
