There are multiple reasons for the inflammation. The best thing to do is consult a dentist and meanwhile try to avoid the hot and spicy food or anything that cause irritation to the tongue. For pain relief - apply any anesthetic gel and do warm saline (salt water) gargles.
Next Steps
Consult dentist

Hi, As it's been 5 days and the swollen taste buds haven’t healed yet, it’s best to get a proper clinical check-up done. This could be due to irritation from spicy food, vitamin deficiency, or an early sign of an infection.
Next Steps
Start a B-complex supplement (once daily for a week). Use a non-alcoholic antiseptic mouthwash (like chlorhexidine) twice a day. Avoid spicy, hot, or acidic foods for a few more days. Drink plenty of water and maintain tongue hygiene. If it still doesn’t improve in the next 2–3 days, visit a dentist, preferably one who specializes in Oral Medicine.
Health Tips
Maintain good oral hygiene Drink plenty of water Avoid self-touching or scraping the tongue
